How It Works

Every blood donation can help save another pet's life. Our blood donation program makes the process simple, safe, and rewarding for both pets and their owners.

  1. 1 Register Your Pet

Eligible dogs and cats can sign up for the blood donation program. Once registered, owners will complete a preliminary questionnaire about their pet's health and medical history.

  2. 2 Health Check and Screening

Before donating, each pet receives a free basic health examination and screening for infectious diseases. This helps ensure that the donor is healthy and that the donated blood is safe for recipients.

  3. 3 A Calm and Comfortable Donation

Veterinary staff work to keep each pet calm and comfortable throughout the procedure. Dogs may be offered food to help them feel at ease, while cats receive extra comfort and gentle handling to reduce stress. Local anesthesia may be used to minimize discomfort during needle insertion.

The amount of blood collected depends on the animal's size and veterinary assessment. The procedure is supervised by veterinary professionals, with each pet's well-being as the priority.

  4. 4 Help Save Another Life

Once collected and tested, donated blood can help veterinary hospitals treat pets experiencing emergencies, trauma, anemia, and other conditions requiring transfusions. Because dogs and cats have different blood types, blood compatibility must be checked before a transfusion.

Every donation helps build a more reliable blood supply, reducing waiting times for animals in need.
